Local area lawyer buys ad pleading for Tim Tebow to Jaguars
A local Florida lawyer bought ads asking Shad Khan to bring Tim Tebow to the Jaguars. It must be the offseason.
It must be the offseason. After all, that's the only way to explain the continued surge of Tim Tebow-related items coming out of Jacksonville, right? With Tebow's NFL career floating in the wind, fans are firing up White House petitions to bring him to the Jaguars.
And buying commercial time -- a "powerful" Orlando lawyer John Morgan, a University of Florida law school graduate, bought air time to plead with owner Shad Khan to bring Tebow back to Jacksonville.
Morgan's commercial is exactly what you would think. It has the requisite ambulance-chasing logos, he calls Tebow a winner, he points out empty seats in Jacksonville (during the fourth quarter of a 31-14 game) and he says things that will cause people to call him "a great American and smart lawyer." Or something.
Generally speaking, it's a pretty good stab at generating some publicity for Morgan's business from Tebow's plight.
But it's still unlikely that Tebow's coming. General Manager Dave Caldwell's been adamant that Tebow isn't coming to Jacksonville and that's a smart thing.
Although as long as Khan remains "fascinated" with fans reaction to Tebow there should always be some small fear that he'll return. Although "fascinated" may not be the right word to describe most people's feelings for the left-handed fullback during the throes of the offseason.
