LOOK: Buccaneers players react with shock on Twitter to Lovie Smith firing

Tampa Bay's decision to dump Lovie Smith on Wednesday night came as a complete shock to almost everyone, including several Buccaneers players.

After the team announced Smith's dismissal just after 10:15 p.m. ET, several players took to Twitter, and based on their reaction, they had no idea the firing was coming.

Let's start with defensive tackle Akeem Spence.

That pretty much summed up the reaction of almost everyone on the team who tweeted something out on Wednesday night.

However, not everyone was surprised by the firing. Tim Jennings, who was released by the team in November, says he saw this coming.

Tight end Brandon Myers also seems to have a replacement in mind.

The person who took the firing the hardest was probably Pro Bowl linebacker Lavonte David.

First, David expressed his shock.

Then, the Bucs linebacker implied that there were people who wanted Lovie out.

After that, he took a swipe at the organization for having so many coaches in just five years.

David has since deleted all of his tweets related to the firing.
