Due to their decision to fire Doug Whaley the morning after the draft, the Bills are searching for their next general manager. As CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported, Panthers assistant general manager Brandon Beane is the front-runner, while Carolina executive Don Gregory and Titans personnel man Ryan Cowden are also in the mix.

It might be time to throw another name into the hat. If Bills running back LeSean McCoy has his way, it'll be Brett Veach who gets the job.

At 3:25 p.m. ET, McCoy kick-started Veach's campaign with a pretty simple message:

Less than a minute later, he did it again:

Shortly after, McCoy retweeted this:

He then quote-retweeted this:

So, who is Veach? He's currently the Chiefs' co-director of player personnel. Before he landed in Kansas City, he worked for the Eagles as a scout and member of the player personnel department. As the tweets above indicate, he had a hand in drafting McCoy back in 2009, which is probably why McCoy is a fan.

It's also worth noting that Bills coach Sean McDermott, who was in Philadelphia from 1999-2010, has a history with Veach. So, it's not unreasonable to suggest that Veach's name has popped up in any discussions that are happening far away from Twitter.

Obviously, McCoy's Twitter campaign won't impact the Bills' decision. After all, McCoy is a 28-year-old running back, which means the next general manager will likely outlast him in Buffalo. But gaining the support of the Bills' best offensive player can't hurt Veach's chances.
