If Raiders running back Taiwan Jones decides to sit out receiving drills during training camp this year, you can't blame him -- he's only doing it for his own safety.

Over the summer, Jones learned an important lesson: Catching passes from Derek Carr can actually be dangerous.

Apparently, Jones had to get six stitches after catching a pass from Carr during an offseason workout in late June. Of course, we're only hearing about the story now because Raiders fullback Marcel Reece decided to share it with everyone on Instagram.

From Reece's Instagram:

"So on the eve of training camp, I've been asked what we have been up to over the break," Reece wrote. "Well, one weekend a few of the fellas and I got together to work and throw the ball a little bit. Well ... here's a peek into our sessions, when you have the best you quarterback in the game throwing you the ball. He literally split my boy's finger through his gloves. And I won't tell you it was Taiwan Jones, and six stitches."

Reece was also kind enough to include a photo.

The good news for the Raiders is that Jones' finger was healed up by the time the team reported for training camp on July 28.

If you look at Reece's picture, you may notice that Carr's smiling. Apparently, he didn't feel bad at all about the stitches, although he did kind of apologize on Twitter.

If Carr throws zero interceptions this season, it's probably because everyone is now afraid to catch a pass from him.
