LOOK: Saints DC Rob Ryan parties with fans after beating Cowboys
The outspoken defensive coordinator, let go by the Cowboys this past offseason, celebrated Sunday's victory with Saints fans at a local New Orleans dive bar.
Heading into Sunday night’s matchup, new Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan was peppered with payback questions as he set to face the Cowboys, his former team.
Ryan, who famously quipped he’d be out of work for five minutes after being axed by Jerry Jones, took the high road, emphasizing a team-first mentality.
Still, one would think, that Ryan probably took some solace after the Saints torched the Cowboys’ defense for 625 yards en route to a 49-17 drubbing. The Cowboys, in contrast, looked baffled all evening as Ryan sent dozens of uniquely designed blitzes to confuse Tony Romo. Dallas amassed just 193 total yards, well shy of their 300+ yard average.
To celebrate, Ryan headed to Ms. Mae’s to party with Saints fans, where he apparently picked up the tab. Here's video from the night.
Aside from the win, Ryan had good reason to celebrate. His Saints have the NFL’s ninth-ranked defense while the Cowboys are ranked 31st.
