Man charged with killing Adrian Peterson's son posts $750K bond

Joseph Robert Patterson, the 27-year-old man charged with killing the 2-year-old son of Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, has posted bond and is free for now, according to the AP.

Patterson's attorney, Tim Rensch, said there are no conditions on the bond, but that Patterson, the boyfriend of the mother of 2-year-old Tyrese Ruffin, "plans to stay in the area and defend himself."

Patterson has been charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, aggravated assault and aggravated battery in the death of Tyrese. Patterson pleaded not guilty to the charges on Monday.

His bond then was reduced to $750,000 on Monday, meaning Patterson only had to post $75,000 in order to get out of jail. Previously, the bond was $1 million.

A pretrial hearing will take place in January.
