Marcell Dareus placed on non-football injury list after failing fitness test
The disappointing offseason from Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus continues.
When the Bills placed defensive tackle Marcell Dareus on the Active/Non-Football Injury list on Saturday, it was unclear exactly what had happened, though it was apparent that this was yet another disappointment for Dareus in an offseason filled with them.
Now, we have an answer.
Doug Marrone: DT Marcell Dareus failed his conditioning test upon reporting for camp. "He needs to focus on getting himself ready"— Buffalo Bills (@buffalobills) July 20, 2014
Though he wasn't allowed to practice Sunday, it sounds like Marrone doesn't think this will be a major barrier for Dareus.
"He'll be in shape, ready to play ...," Marrone said.
Though Dareus is coming off his best season with 7.5 sacks and his first Pro Bowl selection in 2013, he was arrested for drug charges in May and charged with three crimes in June in relation to alleged drag racing.
