Martellus Bennett would like you to stop talking about your fantasy team
Martellus Bennett told Jim Rome Tuesday that he would appreciate it if you would stop talking to him about your fantasy football team.
While Michael Bennett was on the podium refusing to perform his sack dance, his brother Martellus Bennett was on The Jim Rome Show Tuesday refusing to give in to the brand new phenomenom sweeping the nation: fantasy football.
“It’s called ‘Do Not Draft Me,’” said the Chicago Bears tight end to Rome at Super Bowl 2014's Radio Row. “Which is for fantasy football people who always come to me and are like ‘Oh, I drafted you and…blah, blah, blah.’”
Bennett was the 10th highest-scoring tight end in CBSSports.com fantasy leagues, so he was probably on a team in your league, if you, well, play fantasy football.
Bennett went on.
“Fantasy football sucks and your team sucks.”
But it's not all fanta-mosity. There are exceptions.
“[If] your team name is the ‘Black Unicorns’ or ‘The Black Marty B’s’, [it's okay],” Bennett said.
"Black Unicorns," mind you, was our 4850th most popular team name back when the season started. I don't have updated data to reflect what it was at the end of the season, but I shall ask our fantasy overlords. However, that's a pretty steep climb, so it's highly likely Bennett was not cheering you on this season.
