Mike Shanahan calls RG3 tape rumors 'completely false'
Mike Shanahan wasn't real happy about the Robert Griffin III film rumors and called them 'absolutely untrue' and 'completely false.'
On Sunday morning the pot got stirred in the Redskins locker room when a report surfaced from the NFL Network that Robert Griffin III didn't want his negative plays being shown during team film sessions.
Asked about that specific report, Washington coach Mike Shanahan vehemently denied it.
"That's completely false," Shanahan said. "Robert wouldn't do that."
Shanahan also referred to the report as "absolutely untrue" and referenced it as "character assassination."
Shanahan said he never discusses private conversations w players but saw this as "character assassination" & needed to set record straight— Mike Jones (@MikeJonesWaPo) November 24, 2013
It's unsurprising that Shanny would lash back at this report. True or not it will be something that's publicly discussed and remembered. It makes the Redskins starting quarterback look horrible.
And with the Redskins struggling to get victories, further gossip about the Skins struggles doesn't exactly help things. The report in question also featured NFL Network saying that Griffin has expressed to teammates a dislike for Shanahan.
The scrutiny will fade away for a few hours on Sunday while football's actually being played, but expect Monday to be chockful of more rumors about the future of the Skins.
