NFL Draft: Patriots get A for picking Dominique Easley at No. 29
The Patriots have selected former Florida defensive tackle Dominique Easley with the No. 29 overall pick.
NEW YORK -- One reason Dominique Easley might not have gotten quite as much publicity as other top-notch defensive linemen was because he tore his ACL in September. Yet, that didn't stop the Patriots from selecting him with the No. 29 overall pick at the NFL Draft on Thursday.
CBSSports.com senior writer Pete Prisco applauds the selection.
Easley terrific pick for Pats. Top-10 pick if not for injuries to both knees. Will be star -- if healthy. GRADE: A http://t.co/KPxAyHqyNs— Pete Prisco (@PriscoCBS) May 9, 2014
Though Easley has now suffered two ACL tears, the Patriots must have liked his explosiveness off the snap and his quick hands.
But considering both ACL tears happened on non-contact plays, Easley's knees will likely get special attention in New England. One Patriots fan doesn't seem worried about the risk of the pick.
