NFL players tweet tributes to Calvin Johnson after retirement report

If the rumors are true, 2015 was Calvin Johnson's last year playing football and the long-time Detroit Lions wide receiver is walking away from the game at the age of 30.

We heard Johnson might be thinking about leaving football earlier this month and there's really only so much abuse you can take with the Lions.

There's still plenty of time for the man known as Megatron to change his mind.

But in the case that he doesn't, plenty of NFL players went ahead and paid homage to a legend anyway.

Former Bears star cornerback Charles Tillman tweeted that Megatron was always one of his favorite matchups.

Teammate Eric Ebron just used emojis to describe his sadness.

And Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson dropped the dopest of pictures.

Once the news is actually confirmed, you can bet there will be plenty more tributes to Johnson. He's won't retire with G.O.A.T. stats but his talent level is second to none when you start stacking up NFL wide receivers.

No one likes it when people call someone a Hall of Famer before he's actually in, but it's hard to imagine Johnson not being one.
