NFL Week 10 top picks: Going to the dogs again
I like three underdogs this week to highlight my top picks. They are Carolina, Atlanta and Tampa Bay.
My top picks were 1-2 last week, but I have to put an asterisk next to it. When Aaron Rodgers went down with broken collarbone in the first quarter of the Bears game, it altered the pick -- even if I couldn't change it.
I know the loss counts, and injuries are part of the game, but I am putting the asterisk there anyway.
My only win last week was with an underdog, the Titans. So this week it's all about the dogs. I like Carolina, Atlanta and Tampa Bay.
Panthers (plus 6) at 49ers: This is a chance for the surging Panthers to show they are for real. The 49ers are coming off a bye, so they will be rested. But I think Panthers will hang around. Cam Newton is playing at a high level and I like Carolina's defensive front.
Falcons (plus 6½) vs. Seahawks: The Falcons beat the Seahawks in the playoffs last year, but this is a far different team. But it is still a group with a lot of pride. And they still have Matt Ryan. He has been subpar the past two weeks, but will get it going here and keep it close.
Buccaneers (plus 2½) vs. Dolphins: I think the Bucs win this game outright. Mike Glennon seemed to grow last week in Seattle, and I think it carries over. Miami has all the issues hanging over it now and they will be without two starting offensive linemen because of it. Bucs take it in an upset.
