NFL Week 15 injuries: Cecil Shorts, two Pats receivers won't play
Here are the most important injuries for Week 15.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts downgraded to out
The Jaguars offense might be in trouble Sunday with running back Maurice Jones-Drew already out because of a hamstring injury. Top receiver Cecil Shorts also won't play because of a groin injury that had him listed as questionable.
That means quarterback Chad Henne will be counting on rookie receiver Ace Sanders for a big game, and without Jones, the team will turn to Jordan Todman for a majority of its rushing yards.
Shorts leads the team with 66 catches for 777 yards.
Brady short two receivers
The New England Patriots will have to play the rest of the season without tight end Rob Gronkowski , who suffered a torn ACL last week, but they'll have even more receiving problems this week. That's because the team announced that receivers Kenbrell Thompkins (hip) and Aaron Dobson (foot) have been downgraded from questionable to out for this week's game vs. the Miami Dolphins .
Dobson returned to practice Friday, but he obviously isn't healthy enough to play, while Thompkins will miss his second-straight game.
Kiko Alonso active
After tweakin his knee at practice Friday, Bills linebacker Kiko Alonso was listed as questionable on the injury report. Good news for Buffalo on Sunday.
He's active and ready to play.
Adrian Peterson to miss game
Expect plenty of carries for Minnesota Vikings running back Matt Asiata on Sunday.
That's because Adrian Peterson and backup Toby Gerhart are expected to miss Sunday's matchup vs. the Philadelphia Eagles .
Peterson had to leave last week's game with an ankle injury.
Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez, who was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report, is active for Week 15 against the Redskins. Gonzalez was limited in practice leading up to the game. He has been contending with a toe injury since Week 10 but has yet to miss a game. -- Scott White
Report: Garrett Graham expected to miss Week 15
Houston Texans tight end Garrett Graham is unlikely to play Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15, according to NFL.com. Graham was unable to practice this week because of hamstring injury. Ryan Griffin would likely get the starting nod in his place. -- Igor Mello
Jordan Reed ruled out again
Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed (concussion) did not travel with the team to Atlanta Saturday, and will not play in Week 15 against the Atlanta Falcons as a result, the team announced. Reed has been officially downgraded to out, after failing to pass concussion tests.
