OL Geoff Schwartz agrees to deal with Giants
Offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz has a new team. He's going to the Giants.
Perhaps more than anybody, offensive guard Geoff Schwartz was ready for the beginning of free agency this year.
I've done the waiting for 4pm on Free Agency day 3 yrs in a row. I'm looking forward to skipping this experience the next few years.— Geoff Schwartz (@geoffschwartz) March 11, 2014
Otw to the Big Apple tonight! Can't wait to officially sign w/the @Giants tomorrow! So pumped.— Geoff Schwartz (@geoffschwartz) March 11, 2014
Schwartz spent the previous season with the Chiefs, starting seven games and ranking as the No. 6 guard on the Pro Football Focus list. The Giants need plenty of help with their offensive line. Lineman David Diehl decided to retire, the team released center David Baas, and guard Chris Snee had to renegotiate his contract in order to stay on the team.
The Rams also reportedly were in the running to land Schwartz.
