Perhaps more than anybody, offensive guard Geoff Schwartz was ready for the beginning of free agency this year.

And now that it's here, Schwartz, the No. 104 free agent on the CBSSports.com list, has big news to share. He's headed to the Giants.

Schwartz spent the previous season with the Chiefs, starting seven games and ranking as the No. 6 guard on the Pro Football Focus list. The Giants need plenty of help with their offensive line. Lineman David Diehl decided to retire, the team released center David Baas, and guard Chris Snee had to renegotiate his contract in order to stay on the team.

The Rams also reportedly were in the running to land Schwartz.
