Packers sign Matt Flynn
Matt Flynn signs with the Packers on Monday CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports.
Even with the Packers signing Matt Flynn, QB John Skelton is still headed to Green Bay for a workout on Tues.— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) November 12, 2013
In his previous stint with Green Bay, Flynn served as Rodgers backup and picked up a Super Bowl ring in 2011. That year he lit up the Lions in Week 16, throwing for 480 yards and a Packers-record six touchdowns while relieving Rogers.
That performance would propel him into the free-agent market. He eventually signed with the Seahawks, lost his gig to Russell Wilson and got traded to Oakland before this season. Terrelle Pryor beat him out there and he was released. After a cup of coffee with the Bills, Flynn landed on the open market again.
Now he's back where it all began, hoping to recreate some of that late-season magic for the Packers once again.
Carson Wentz might be the No. 2 overall pick, but he's currently No. 3 on the depth chart
