The Carolina Panthers have made a move heading into their bye week.
Former Saints tight end Chris Manhertz has been claimed off waivers by the Panthers, and the team released cornerback Lou Young to make room on Monday.

Manhertz effectively replaces former Panthers tight end Scott Simonson, who was cut last week to make room for Young. The Panthers brought in Young heading into the Saints game to fill in for injured cornerbacks James Bradberry and Robert McClain, both of whom are expected to be back after the bye.
Manhertz previously played college basketball at Canisius College before signing with the Saints. He made two starts this season, but didn't record a catch.
