Tom Brady was drafted on April 16, 2000, which also happened to be the 48th birthday of Patriots coach Bill Belichick.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick turned 62 on Wednesday. Belichick will probably get several new hoodies for his birthday, but even if he does, there's no way his 62nd birthday will top his 48th birthday.
Belichick's 48th birthday fell on April 16, 2000, a day he'll probably remember for the rest of his life. Mainly because the Patriots did this.

That's right, Tom Brady was basically a birthday present from Belichick to himself.
Just for fun, here's a list of the six quarterbacks who were selected before Brady in the 2000 NFL Draft.
First round: Chad Pennington (18th overall to the Jets).
Fifth round: Tee Martin (163rd overall to the Steelers).
The 2000 NFL Draft was Belichick's first as the Patriots head coach and Brady was the seventh player he drafted. The first player drafted by New England under Belichick? Second-round pick Adrian Klemm out of Hawaii. He didn't work out as well for the Patriots as Brady has.
Speaking of Brady, he was so happy he got drafted, he cried.
