Rams adding QB's Brady Quinn, Austin Davis after Bradford injury
After Sam Bradford went down on Sunday, the Rams only had one quarterback on the roster: Kellen Clemens. St. Louis is set to add two more in Brady Quinn and Austin Davis.
St. Louis quarterback Kellen Clemens will be the team's starter when the Rams host the Seahawks on Monday, but after that, he'll have some competition. St. Louis plans to sign former Browns first-round pick Brady Quinn, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora has reported.
The Rams have also signed quarterback Austin Davis, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Davis originally signed with St. Louis as an undrafted free agent in 2012. The Southern Mississippi product spent the 2012 season as the Rams No. 3 quarterback, but was cut in August when the Rams decided to only carry two quarterbacks on the roster.
Now in his eighth year in the NFL, Clemens has never really been sharp when he's on the field. The 30-year-old former Oregon quarterback has thrown 13 interceptions in his career and only seven touchdown passes. Clemens has a 4-8 career-record as a starter, including an 0-3 record with the Rams in 2011.
As for Quinn, he'll be playing for his fifth team since 2010. Over the past three years, Quinn has spent time with Cleveland, Denver, Kansas City and the Jets. The 22nd overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft was cut by New York on Monday, he also spent time this preseason in Seattle.
