When the Rams hired Jeff Fisher before the 2012 season, the franchise seemingly did so with stability on its mind. In Fisher, the Rams were getting a head coach who'd spent 17 years with the Oilers-Titans franchise and won 54 percent of his games. He might've been mediocre, but he was at least stable in his mediocrity.

Four years later, you can't say Fisher didn't bring stable mediocrity to St. Louis. Since Fisher took over, the Rams have won seven games in three of four seasons. Fisher is 27-36-1 as the Rams' head coach. He's getting paid $7 million a season, per Spotrac.

And that means the Rams have paid Jeff Fisher just over a million dollars per win through the first four years of his five-year contract.

More signs of Fisher's mediocrity:

  • He hasn't won more than eight games in a season since 2008!
  • He hasn't won a playoff game since 2003!
  • He's getting paid $7 million a year but hasn't won more than seven games in a season with the Rams.
We'll find out pretty soon if Fisher survives Black Monday (yet again).

Fisher makes $7 million a year, but hasn't won more than seven games in a season with the Rams. (USATSI)
