Ravens RB Ray Rice loudly cheered at Monday practice
A two-game suspension for assaulting a woman doesn't mean Ravens fans will stop cheering for Ray Rice.
The Ravens practiced Monday night at M&T Bank Stadium, and a reported 25,000-plus fans entered to watch an evening summer practice.
#Ravens again put Ray Rice on the big screen. A huge applause for Rice, who taps his chest in response.— Jamison Hensley (@jamisonhensley) July 28, 2014
As ESPN.com writes, "There were many fans wearing Rice's No. 27 jersey, including several children."
Apparently those fans agree with NFL VP Adolpho Birch's declaration on Monday that Rice's suspension was appropriate.
All of it led me to this question ...
I wonder what a player would have to do in order for his team's fans NOT to cheer him if he was on the Jumbotron at practice.— Josh Katzowitz (@joshkatzowitz) July 28, 2014
Melissa Jacobs had an interesting take as well.
Too bad the Rice elevator footage didn't accidentally make its way to the Jumbotron at Ravens camp. Would fans have cheered then?— Melissa Jacobs (@thefootballgirl) July 29, 2014
