Redskins sign WR Jerry Rice Jr.
The receiver whose dad is one of the greatest of all time has a chance to make the team in Washington.
Imagine what it'd be like for your dad to be one of the greatest receivers of all time and then you try to make the NFL in the exact same position with the exact same name. Welcome to the world of Jerry Rice Jr., who signed with the Redskins on Thursday.
Rice, who played his college career at UCLA and UNLV, had tryouts this offseason with the Ravens and the 49ers (can you imagine what kind of pressure Rice Jr., would have faced in San Francisco if he made the team?). Ultimately, he didn't catch on with either squad.
But now he has a chance in Washington, which already has a solid receiving corps with the newly-signed DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, Aldrick Robinson and Andre Roberts. So, it seems that Rice will have a tough time making the team. But hey, at least he has a chance.
This by far best day of my life..... Right now... But the grind never stops.... I gotta keep pushing can't be content.. Never will be— Jerry Rice Jr. (@JRtherealgoatJR) June 26, 2014
