Report: Adrian Peterson undergoes groin surgery Thursday
Vikings running back Adrian Peterson reportedly had groin surgery Thursday.
After Adrian Peterson missed two of the final four Vikings games of the season and then dropped out of the Pro Bowl, it was reported last week that the running back was considering minimally invasive groin surgery.
According to ESPN's Josina Anderson, that surgery happened Thursday.
Peterson met this week with the same doctor who performed his sports hernia surgery last offseason in Philadelphia. It was then decided that Peterson needed surgery.
Reportedly, Peterson's recovery time would be about two months.
Peterson -- who also dealt with a foot injury in December -- finished the 2013 season with 1,266 yards and 10 touchdowns.
