Report: Aldon Smith, Delanie Walker named in second shooting lawsuit
Aldon Smith and Delanie Walker have been named in a second lawsuit stemming from a party Smith threw at his house in June of 2012.
San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith threw a party in June of 2012 and he's probably starting to wish that party never happened. For the second time in three days, Smith and former Niners tight end Delanie Walker have been named in a lawsuit.
On Tuesday, a man named Ronndale Esporles filed a lawsuit against Smith and Walker, now with the Titans. In the suit, Esporles claimed that he was shot in the leg at Smith's party. On Thursday, a second man filed a lawsuit against Smith and Walker, alleging almost the same thing, according to NBCBayArea.com.
The second lawsuit, filed by an attorney for Aaron Reyes -- a reported friend of Esporles -- alleges that Reyes was shot at the party and received serious, catastrophic and permanent injuries.
The lawsuit made additional claims that Esporles' suit didn't, including a claim that "drugs were used in an open and notorious fashion at the party" and that the party was wideley advertised on the Internet.
The lawsuit also alleges that both Smith and Walker knew there were gang members at the party.
Authorities who originally showed up on the night of the party would later note in the police report that three men were taken to the hospital -- two of them for gunshot wounds and one for a stab wound. The stab victim was Smith, while the two gunshot victims were never identified.
Police had been called to the party after receiving reports of gunshots, according to the Sacramento Bee.
The 49ers released a statement on Tuesday after Smith was named in the first lawsuit: "The 49ers organization has been aware of this matter concerning Aldon Smith for some time," the team said. "We will continue to monitor the situation closely, but will have no further comment at this time, as this is an ongoing legal matter."
