Report: Brandon Browner decision will be made in late December
Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner is appealing his one-year suspension and the decision on that appeal will reportedly be handed down around Christmas.
Back on Nov. 25, Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner was hit with a one-year suspension for reportedly violating the league's substance abuse policy. The suspension hasn't started though because Browner is appealing it. The decision on that appeal is expected to be handed down in late December around Christmas-time, according to ESPN.com.
Browner's eligible to play until a ruling has been made and if the ruling isn't handed down until Christmas, that means that Browner could potentially be on the field for the Seahawks Week 15 and Week 16 games against the the Giants and Cardinals. Browner, who's dealing with a strained groin, has already been ruled out of Sunday's game against San Francisco.
The NFL has already offered to reduce Browner's suspension by three months, but he turned that down. CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported on Sunday that Browner won't accept any deal that might affect his impending free agency in March or his playing status for the postseason. The Seahawks will clinch the NFC West division title with a win over the 49ers on Sunday.
