Report: Delanie Walker agrees to four-year deal with Titans
Former 49ers tight end Delanie Walker has reached a four-year agreement with the Titans, according to ESPN.
|NFL offseason news|
In effect, Walker will serve as a replacement for Jared Cook, probably the best tight end free agent on the market right now who couldn’t get a long-term deal from the Titans. But while Cook put up solid numbers as a pass-catcher, Walker has never recorded more than 30 catches in a season.
Walker, though, will help Tennessee in the run game, because he’s such a solid blocker in front of a running back. With the news that the Titans also have signed Andy Levitre, I imagine Chris Johnson likes this news very much.
Either way, here’s what our buddy, Football Outsider’s Andy Benoit, thinks about the deal.
