Report: Dez Bryant fined $7.8K for throat-slash gesture
Cowboys wideout Dez Bryant was fined for a throat-slash gesture this past week.
The NFL's made it abundantly clear in recent years: no throat-slash gestures. Cowboys wideout Dez Bryant did one on Sunday against the Rams when he scored a touchdown and as a result he's been fined for it.
According to ESPN Bryant was fined $7,875 for using the gesture following his score.
Bryant also apologized this week for his action.
"I shouldn't have done it anyway," Bryant said. "I never put anything with the X. Do the X and go on."
That kind of cash isn't a huge deal for a first-round guy like Dez. It's a lot of money, obviously, but not that much in the grand scheme of things.
What I dig is that Bryant apologized for his actions and appears to be accepting the consequences pretty well. For a guy everyone's expecting to break out this year (and he's having a nice season already) I like the maturity.
