Report: Dolphins reinstate Don Jones after bashing Michael Sam
Dolphins safety Don Jones has reportedly returned to his team.
After the Rams drafted Michael Sam, he famously kissed his boyfriend in celebration while weeping with happiness. The kiss drew either praise or condemnation across the nation and the Internet, and one NFL player to get caught up in the storyline was Dolphins safety Don Jones, who tweeted out "horrible" after the kiss was shown on national TV.
As such, the Dolphins fined and suspended him and ordered him to sensitivity training.
The suspension lasted eight days, because according to Fox Sports' Alex Marvez, the Dolphins reinstated Jones on Monday.
Said Jones in a statement when the Dolphins announced the suspension: "I want to apologize to Michael Sam for the inappropriate comments that I made last night on social media. I take full responsibility for them and I regret that these tweets took away from his draft moment. I remember last year when I was drafted in the seventh round and all of the emotions and happiness I felt when I received the call that gave me an opportunity to play for an NFL team and I wish him all the best in his NFL career ... I am committed to represent the values of the Miami Dolphins organization and appreciate the opportunity I have been given to do so going forward."
