Report: Dustin Keller taking physical with Dolphins
Tight end Dustin Keller, who spent his first five seasons with the Jets, appears poised to join AFC East rival Miami. Keller was taking a physical with the Dolphins on Wednesday, according to a report.
Miami Herald columnist Armando Salguero first reported the news. Keller, who spent his first five seasons with the Jets, played just eight games last season after suffering a high ankle sprain. In 2011 he caught 65 balls for 815 yards and five touchdowns.
Salguero reported that if Keller passes his physical, the Dolphins and Keller’s agent will talk contract terms. Miami began pursuing Keller after losing out on Jared Cook, who got $19 million guaranteed from the Rams.
The Jets wanted Keller back but could not afford him due to their cap situation.
