Report: Free-agent safety Louis Delmas visits Steelers
It sounds like a few teams are showing interest in free-agent safety Louis Delmas after he was released by the Lions last week.
On Monday, Delmas, expected to be one of the top free agent safeties this offseason, visited with the Steelers, according to ESPN.com.
Delmas is only 26 years old, and he's coming off a three-interception season after starting all 16 games with Detroit last year. Pro Football Focus ranked him as the No. 26 safety out of 86 in 2013, but Delmas has struggled with the health of his knees during his five-year career (he missed 13 combined games in 2011 and 2012).
As ESPN points out, the Steelers likely won't re-sign safety Ryan Clark. Meanwhile, the Vikings and Falcons also reportedly have shown interest in Delmas, while the Lions also could take him back at a reduced rate.
