Last season, Vikings defensive end Jared Allen recorded a near-NFL record 22 sacks. This season, Allen has seven sacks. So, what’s going on?

According to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, Allen has played all season with a torn labrum in his shoulder. Though he hasn’t missed a practice, the injury might be affecting the quality of his play.

Allen will undergo surgery after the season on his shoulder. Until then, opposing offensive linemen will want to make sure they account for Allen every moment they’re on the field.
