Report: Jon Sandusky, Browns player personnel director, arrested

Jon Sandusky, the Browns director of player personnel and the son of former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky, was arrested early Tuesday morning on suspicion of DUI.

Sandusky is in his second season with the Browns after having spent most of the previous decade with the Eagles.

"We're aware of the situation and currently working to gather facts," Browns spokesman Zak Gilbert told the AP.

More from the Cleveland Plain Dealer:

"Sandusky, 36, the Browns' director of player personnel, was initially pulled over around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday for making an illegal turn, Fargo [N.D.] Police Lt. Joel Vettel said. The officer suspected Sandusky of driving under the influence and, after administering several field sobriety tests, determined there was probable cause for an arrest, Vettel said. He was booked and released from Cass County Jail a short time later, Vettel said."

According to the Fargo-Moorhead Forum, Sandusky didn’t say specifically where he was before he was arrested but he did say he was coming from “just down the road.” The paper also reported that a man with a Cleveland Browns coat was spotted leaving the North Dakota State University football team room on Tuesday afternoon.

Sandusky's arrest is the third time in the past four months that an NFL team executive has been charged with DUI, after two Denver executives were arrested this past summer.
