Report: Knowshon Moreno to undergo knee surgery, out 4-5 weeks
Like his teammate Mike Pouncey, Dolphins running back Knowshon Moreno will have to miss time due to surgery.
It was reported early Monday that Dolphins center Mike Pouncey would miss the next three months after hip surgery to repair a labrum, and now, one of the candidates for the starting running back spot in Miami, former Broncos starter Knowshon Moreno, also will have to undergo the surgical knife.

After a career year in Denver last year with 1,038 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, Moreno signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins this offseason, and he was expected to battle Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas for major minutes at running back.
His surgery shouldn't keep Moreno from beginning the season, but if he misses significant time in training camp, that likely will move Miller into prime position to be the starter.
Earlier in the offseason, Moreno told reporters that the Dolphins were the only team to reach out to him in free agency. And this could be why.
