According to a report from the Philadelphia Daily News, LeSean McCoy was offered a contract that would've paid him $6 million a year during the 2011 season but turned it down.

LeSean McCoy's heading into the final year of his contract and is quite clearly the Eagles next long-term priority after an offseason that saw them lock up many of their own players, including mercurial wideout DeSean Jackson.
As it turns out, the Eagles might've been trying to lock up McCoy for some time now: Paul Domowitch of the Philadelphia Daily News reports that the Eagles offered the running back a deal during the 2011 season that would've paid him $6 million a year, and that McCoy turned them down.
Even more interestingly, Domowitch reports that part of McCoy's decision to to fire agent Drew Rosenhaus twice last fall related to Rosenhaus "tried to persuad the running back to accept" the offer from the Eagles.
One "agent who represents Eagles players" told Domowitch that he thinks "something will get done by the start of camp."
Making matters difficult though, are a couple of things. First, the market for running backs this offseason could best be described as tepid and that's probably being optimistic. Second is the leverage McCoy has (read: none). He's on contract through next year, he can be franchised the year after that, and the Eagles do not respond well to players holding out.
All that being said, McCoy's played the role of "good solider" quite well for the Eagles, and even if running backs aren't as valuable as they used to be, McCoy's a different kind of player, and he fits the Eagles offense perfectly, with his big-play ability and pass-catching skills. So don't be shocked if Philly works something out before the season gets underway.
