Nothing's official yet, but it looks like Michael Vick will wear No. 8 with the New York Jets (apparently, it was down to No. 3 or No. 8). The former first-overall pick had donned No. 7 through the first 12 years of his NFL career with both the Falcons and Eagles (as well as at Virginia Tech, and high school before that), but with quarterback Geno Smith already wearing No. 7, Vick decided to pay homage to the team's last old southpaw signal caller, Mark Brunell.

Still to be decided: 1) Whether Smith or Vick will be the Jets' 2014 starter, and 2) What number recently signed running back Chris Johnson will wear. He was No. 28 during his six years in Tennessee, but that number was last worn in New York by Hall of Famer Curtis Martin.

Either way, plan your jersey purchasing accordingly.

In case you're wondering, other Jets to wear No. 8: punter Greg Gantt (1974-75), quarterback Tom Flick (1987), quarterback Browning Nagle (1991-93), kicker Nick Lowery (1994-96), quarterback Todd Husak (2002), and Brunell (2010-11).
