Report: Pacman Jones threatened to 'get' David Nelson for 'dirty' play
According to a report, Pacman Jones threatened to 'get' Jets wideout David Nelson, who he claims was playing dirty.
The Bengals dismantled the Jets on Sunday, nearly hanging a 50-burger in a 49-9 thumping. But it wasn't just the score that was over the top: Cincy cornerback Adam Jones reportedly crossed the line while threatening Jets wideout David Nelson.
According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the man formerly known as Pacman threatened to figure out where Nelson resides and come "get" him.
“I’m going to find out where you live and come and get you,” Jones reportedly told Nelson.
Jones admitted to Bengals.com that he and Nelson were jawing and said he went to the sideline and asked Jets coach Rex Ryan why Nelson was playing dirty. Ryan told Pacman to "shut the hell up" (Pacman's response was apparently to point to the scoreboard).
"He told me to shut the hell up. It was something like 35-6," Jones said. "(Nelson) was playing dirty. He cut me like four times after the play. Thank God I took my medicine today, I guess, and I didn't go off. Hopefully he'll get fined. At least three fines. There were three real cheap shots after the play."
Considering that Jones went up to Rex following an interception off Geno Smith that he returned 60 yards for a touchdown, it's little surprise that the coach wasn't thrilled about speaking with the cornerback.
And the whole idea of going back and forth on the football field is pretty standard. This is competitive athletics. But playing dirty is unnecessary.
Of course, so is threatening to come to someone's home and "get" them.
