Report: Patriots, Tom Brady agree on 2-year extension through 2019

The New England Patriots must really believe Tom Brady when he says he'll play past 40, because they just signed him to a two-year extension taking him through 2019.

According to ESPN, Brady and the Pats agreed to an extension that will take him through his age 42 season.

Brady will turn 39 in August of this offseason. He was already under contract through the 2017 season (his age 40) year.

Now he's guaranteed -- assuming he plays out the deal -- to play a ridiculous 20 years in the NFL.

Brady is older but he didn't look it in 2015, helping the Patriots to (another) 12-4 record, throwing 36 touchdowns (he led the league), passing for 4,770 yards and throwing just 7 interceptions.

The Pats season didn't end in a Super Bowl victory, but there's certainly reason to believe Brady isn't about to fall off a cliff.
