More than two months after signing veteran Donte Stallworth to the team, the Redskins reportedly released him Monday, according to the Washington Post.

There never seemed much of a chance Stallworth would make the squad, especially considering the team boasts receivers like Pierre Garcon, Josh Morgan, Aldrick Robinson, Leonard Hankerson and Santana Moss.

Besides, Stallworth turn 33 in November, and he appeared in only one game last season for the Patriots. It wouldn’t be a stretch to believe that, with this latest news, Stallworth’s career might be finished.

In other Redskins cut news, the team reportedly has released backup fullback Eric Kettani, a reserve officer in the Navy. As the Washington Post points out, Kettani received a promotion to lieutenant this summer in a ceremony held at Redskins Park.
