Report: RG3, Mike Shanahan 'don't talk' in Redskins hallways
According to a report, Robert Griffin III and Mike Shanahan 'don't talk' in the Redskins hallways when they cross paths.
The dysfunction surrounding the Redskins, detailed in incredible fashion by CBS Sports Jason La Canfora here and also here, somehow continues to keep building. The latest gossip from the hallways? Robert Griffin III and Mike Shanahan won't even talk when they cross paths.
A current Redskins player told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network when the Skins quarterback and the Skins coach cross paths in the hallways of the Redskins facility, "they don't talk, don't say hello."
We'll assume this is a new development, likely since Shanahan decided to make Griffin inactive for the remainder of the season.
That move didn't sit well with Griffin and reportedly made him "extremely angry" (duh).
Apparently as a result the two aren't hugging it out when they meet each other in the hallway.
It's OK for Shanahan and Griffin to not be best buds. That's been one of the smart points made in all this by Shanahan; only it's one that's been lost in the maw of issues coming out of D.C.
But if they're not even talking it's a pretty good indication that things aren't going perfectly. Especially if Shanahan and Kirk Cousins stop and chat with each other in the hallway before politely bowing and moving along their separate, congenial ways.
