Report: Titans to release QB Ryan Fitzpatrick
Titans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick played decently enough last season. But it sounds like his days in Tennessee are finished.
Despite starting nine games last season in place of the injured Jake Locker and actually playing better than many of us expected, the Titans reportedly are ridding themselves of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Without Locker last year, Tennessee turned to Fitzpatrick. Though he went 3-6 as a starter, he completed 62.0 percent of his passes, matching his career-high, and threw for 14 touchdowns vs. 12 interceptions. He was by no means great, but he gave the Titans a competent backup plan.
But it would have cost the team $3.25 million in base salary for Fitzpatrick in 2014 and a $4.125 million hit to the salary cap.
For now it sounds like Locker will remain as the starter, and the only other quarterback on the roster is 2013 fourth-round pick Tyler Wilson, who didn't make the Raiders active roster last season and signed with Tennessee late in the year.
Which means this is almost certainly not the last quarterback transaction we'll see from Tennessee.
