Despite what many believe, Robert Griffin III throwing balls away over a giant fence near the Browns facility is not an accident or a case of him being bad at football.

In fact, Griffin said on Wednesday that he's throwing the footballs over the giant 16-foot fence because his coaches told him to.

"Coach asked me to work on those things, so when he says throw it away I'm going to throw it as far as I can," Griffin explained. "All the way away."

We joke about this -- and Griffin jokes too -- but maybe it's a good thing considering his history with holding onto the ball too long.

And credit Griffin too for the approach he's taking to the "competition" the Browns are having at quarterback. He could EASILY be acting upset because he wasn't handed the starting gig by Hue Jackson.

Again, Griffin is taking a positive approach to this whole thing. The idea that he was humbled sounded farcical during his initial press conference, but the more and more you hear from him, the more believable it is. Griffin got beat down physically and mentally while playing for the Redskins.

He sounds like a guy buying into what Hue Jackson is selling. Jackson's got a good track record of getting production out of a variety of quarterbacks -- if he pulls off a good year for Griffin it will be his best effort to date considering the talent around him.

At the very least he gets credit for having Griffin buy in.
