There are lots of questions floating around out there about Rob Gronkowski's status. The one thing we do know? He won't be playing in Week 6 for the Patriots. But despite reported concerns from teammates, the man who cuts his checks doesn't sound too concerned.

Robert Kraft, asked on ESPN radio Sunday if the team's relationship with Gronk was complicated, said the Patriots are "completely behind" Gronkowski in his rehab.

"No, well, look, he's a young man that has had a number of different operations and I just want to make clear, because I know the media has a job to do, our first concern is his health and safety and doing what's in his best interest long-term," Kraft said Sunday. "And he's the only one who can decide when he's ready to play and we're completely behind whatever his decision is. Obviously all of us would like him to come as soon as possible, but we're not going to let our short-term desire impede what's right for the long-term."

This outlook from Kraft is probably pretty similar to the outlook from Gronk himself. Getting back on the field is important but no so important that it's worth pushing himself physically and suffering any sort of setback.

It's understandable that his teammates might be concerned if Gronk looks good. Reports indicate he appears to be in "football shape" but hasn't hit the field yet.

Still, it seems unnecessary to worry about too much. The Patriots need Gronk healthy at the end of the year, not the start. And the more patient they are with his progress, the more likely that is to happen.

Fortunately for New England, the boss' boss appears to understand that.
