Santonio Holmes leaves game with left foot injury

Last week, the Jets lost their most important player when cornerback Darrelle Revis tore his ACL on a non-contact play. On Sunday, they’ve lost their most important player of the offense -- temporarily, at least -- when he suffered a foot injury

After catching a pass from Mark Sanchez in the third quarter, receiver Santonio Holmes went to the turf, and his left knee struck the ground. He immediately gave up the ball and grabbed for his leg. The 49ers picked up the fumble and returned it for a touchdown.

According to multiple reports, Holmes couldn't put weight on his leg, and he had to be carted off the field.

He did not return for the game.

Afterward, he had to use a golf cart to leave the stadium. Holmes did not talk to reporters following the Jets embarrassing 34-0 loss to the 49ers after which some players wondered if we would see Tebow Time anytime soon.
