Seahawks most-bet team to win Super Bowl XLVIII
Bettors love Russell Wilson and the Seahawks. They've plummeted from 12-to-1 to 6-to-1 to win Super Bowl XLVIII.

Bettors looking ahead to Super Bowl XLVIII are pouring money on the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins .
“The Seahawks have gotten far and away the most tickets written on them,” said Jay Rood, vice president of Race and Sports for MGM Resorts International, which runs 12 Nevada sportsbooks.
“They’re drawing an inordinate amount of interest at this point, similar to what the San Francisco 49ers did last year after their playoff run.”
The Seahawks, who opened at 12-to-1 to win the Super Bowl, have been bet all the way down to 6-to-1. Bettors believe in Russell Wilson and fellow rookie sensation Robert Griffin III , despite his recent ACL and LCL surgery, and like the price they're getting on those two up-and-coming teams.
Washington opened at 25-to-1 and dropped to 18-to-1.
“Everyone is a believer in the NFL’s medical miracles, that he’ll be back very quickly,” Rood said of RG3.
Other teams drawing heavy action are longshots Cleveland Browns (100-to-1 to 75-to-1), a possible landing spot for Alex Smith , and Oakland Raiders (100-to-1 to 60-to-1).
“The Oakland Raiders always get action because there’s a big price and they have a big following,” Rood said.
MGM Mirage doesn’t have a set maximum on Super Bowl futures wagers.
“I might take up to a $100,000 risk or a $600,000 risk, just depends where we stand,” Rood said. “It’s very situational.”
The Denver Broncos and 49ers opened as co-favorites at 5-1. Action dropped San Fran to the 9-to-2 solo favorite, while Denver is up to 6-to-1, joining the New England Patriots and Seahawks.
The Green Bay Packers are next at 8-to-1, followed by the Baltimore Ravens , Houston Texans , Atlanta Falcons , Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints at 15-to-1.
Books profited from 2012 futures, avoiding a worst-case scenario with the Seahawks.
“That was the only team we were really sweating because they opened at 75-to-1,” Rood said.
The champion Ravens opened 2012 at 20-to-1.
