Veteran kicker Steven Hauschka re-signed with the Seattle Seahawks on Friday, the Seahawks’ announced on the team’s website.

Hauschka connected on 24 of 27 field goals in 2012 to tie for fifth among kickers in the NFC in field goal percentage (88.9). Since joining the Seahawks two seasons ago, Hauschka has made 49 of 57 field goals (86 percent) and 80 of 82 extra points. Terms of the deal were not announced.

Hauschka, 27, has been particularly accurate on short and mid-range attempts. In 2012, Hauschka made all 23 of his attempts inside 50 yards. Hauschka went 1 of 4 on field goals of 50 yards or further, including a 50-yard attempt that was blocked.

The Seahawks claimed Hauschka off waivers in 2011 after he was waived by the Broncos during final cuts. Over the Seahawks’ final eight games of the 2012 regular season, Hauschka went a perfect 10-for-10 on field goal attempts.

Hauschka missed the Seahawks’ season-ending loss to the Falcons in the NFC Divisional Playoffs after suffering a calf injury a week earlier against the Redskins. Before closing the regular season with a five-game winning streak, the Seahawks had six of their first 11 games decided by four points or fewer.
