Saints coach Sean Payton will join Jim Rome on Showtime's "Rome" -- it airs Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. ET, so set your DVR -- and as is normal with the show, will engage in a little Q & A with the host.

One of the questions Rome asks him is who was the better college quarterback: Payton or fellow former Eastern Illinois Panthers quarterback and current Dallas Cowboys star Tony Romo.

"Payton -- wasn't close," the Saints coach answered. "Just look at the numbers. I don't know that Tony's even graduated from Eastern yet."

Sick burn, coach. But he does have a point -- Payton tossed for 509 passing yards in a single game and his offense was known as "Eastern Airlines."

Romo had good numbers, but not quite as prolific.

Tune into Showtime at 9 p.m. ET Wednesday for the rest of Payton's convo with Rome.
