Super Bowl XLVIII sets Las Vegas record for most money wagered
Super Bowl XLVIII featured $119 million being wagered in Las Vegas, a record by more than $20 million.
America loves to gamble. There's no more popular sport for wagering than the NFL and there's no more popular game for it than the Super Bowl. It's a growing industry too: Super Bowl XLVIII set the record for most money wagered in Las Vegas.

Additionally, the Seahawks victory -- the public was heavy on Denver -- meant that Las Vegas enjoyed its biggest day in the history of the Super Bowl.
Per Bell, Vegas cleaned in a cool $19.7 million on the Super Bowl.
This obviously doesn't count the futures money that was wagered on the Broncos and Seahawks. (Or any other teams for that matter.) Between people throwing down bets on the various teams and hitting the over/under, along with prop bets, it's a pretty crazy industry.
And you wonder why those casinos are so tall.
