Tampa Bay Buccaneers place RB Charles Sims on injured reserve
Promising rookie running back Charles Sims was placed on IR by the Bucs Tuesday.
The rookie wowed the team in the offseason and preseason before requiring surgery, and the Bucs have high hopes he could provide a boost down the stretch, which prompted them to use the designation so soon.
Teams can only put one player on the list, and those transactions can begin to become official today.
Sims underwent ankle surgery during training camp. Sims could be a great complement to Doug Martin for a team that overhauled it's offensive line and also added a new starting quarterback and pass-catching options.
