Tevaun Smith added to Colts roster, Quan Bray to IR
The Indianapolis Colts promoted rookie receiver Tevaun Smith from the practice squad to their roster on Tuesday while placing Quan Bray on injured reserve. Smith, an
Smith, an undrafted rookie out of Iowa, was impressive in the preseason. Smith was added to the practice squad after being waived during final roster cutdowns in September.
Bray left Sunday's loss at Houston with an ankle injury. Bray had three catches for 36 yards on the season but his presence will be missed the most on special teams, where he was the primary return man on punts and kicks. What the Colts do now on returns remains to be seen, although Chester Rogers is now listed with the first team on punt returns and Josh Ferguson with the first team on kick returns.
The Colts also made multiple practice squad transactions on Tuesday, re-signing cornerback Frankie Williams and signing wide receiver Marcus Leak while releasing defensive back Lee Hightower and placing tight end Mike Miller on practice squad IR. Leak spent time with the Colts in the spring and the preseason as an undrafted rookie.
