Tim Tebow 'not sure' if he's done enough to make Patriots roster

Here's the good news: Tim Tebow threw two touchdown passes on Thursday night against the Giants. Here's the bad news: he was still pretty bad despite having his best statistical performance for the Patriots thus far.

Tebow's probably a pretty good bet to get cut by the Pats before Saturday's deadline and even Tebow the eternal optimist admits he's "not sure" if he's done enough to make the Pats roster.

"I’m not sure," Tebow said. "I don’t make those decisions."

Does he think he improved? Well kind of, in Tebow speak.

"You’re just trying to execute every play and improve from weeks past and get better and work on the game plan," Tebow said. "You obviously want to win, that’s why we keep score, but you’re also working on certain things as well, so you’re trying to improve on that as well."

Ultimately Tebow, who's been WAY over-analyzed by everyone given how little impact he'll actually have on the 2013 NFL season (yes, I'm guilty of this too), can't offer up anything more than a standard "it is what it is" type response when it comes to making the team.

"I’m just taking it one day at a time and be able to enjoy playing this game tonight and come in here ready to work out tomorrow," Tebow said.

This means nothing, of course, but it's actually pretty fair. Tebow can't have any idea if he's making the roster, mainly because no one has any idea if Tebow is making the roster.

Bill Belichick isn't talking about Tebow (or Aaron Hernandez or Rob Gronkowski for that matter) and his chances of making the roster. And there's going to be a serious squeeze if the Patriots don't put Gronk on the PUP to start the season.

Moving the tight end to the active roster means someone's gotta go. Considering the Pats typically don't keep three quarterbacks on their roster things don't look good for Tebow.

But we've seen him survive worse (somehow) and it would be foolish to put anything past Bill Belichick at this point.
