Titans QB Jake Locker will start Sunday vs. Dolphins

After taking a monster hit from the Texans in Week 4, Tennessee’s Jake Locker hasn’t taken a snap because of a dislocated shoulder. That will change this Sunday, though, when Locker starts for the Titans against the Dolphins.
Locker has practiced all week with no issues, and that gives coach Mike Munchak great confidence that his second-year quarterback is ready to go.
“He looks good,” Munchak said, via the Tennessean. “He moves around well, his reactions were good. … He handled everything well, and did all the things we wanted to see. There’s no reason to think he won’t be ready to play at a high level on Sunday.”
Locker has dislocated that shoulder twice this season, and though he hasn’t played since September the coaching staff doesn’t want to hear any excuses.
“He needs to be ready to play and play to the best of his ability,” quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains said earlier this week. “We don’t have time for anybody to be rusty. That excuse isn’t available for anybody, including him. And he knows that. It’s part of the deal. And if you ask Jake, he doesn’t expect to be rusty. He’s worked his butt off to be ready.”
So, Jake, how’re you feeling, anyway?
“I feel good,” he said. “And I don’t think they’d give me this opportunity if I didn’t.”
